7 Links

The folks over at Tripbase have been running a blogging experiment as of late. The goal is to unite bloggers from all around cyberspace to share and develop a vault of lost, but not forgotten blog posts that deserve to see the light of day again.

I was nominated by the most wonderful SugarMagnolia, to whom I thank very much for thinking of me.

The rules are as follows:

  1.  Blogger is nominated to take part
  2.  Blogger publishes his/her 7 links on his/her blog – 1 link for each category
  3.  Blogger nominates up to 5 more bloggers to take part.
  4.  These bloggers publish their 7 links and nominate another 5 more bloggers
  5.  And so it goes on!

And here goes…

 My 7 Links:

My Most Beautiful:

C is For: This was really hard because I don’t normally write about “beautiful” topics. This is about as close as I think we’re going to get. It was when I was writing a lot about motivation during the winter. Several friends had hit some rough patches with injuries and fatigue while training for marathons and so I was using all my sport’s psychology to prevent a total derailment. This post has really always been a favorite and I refer back to it when I actually need a little encouragement from time to time as well.

My Most Popular Post:

ShadowCreek Ranch Triathlon: this was simply a race re-cap of our most recent race in Houston a few weeks ago. It was picked up by a couple of online tri magazines so that’s probably why the hit count was so high on this particular post.

My Most Controversial Post:

Choose Wisely: I wrote this piece after I was sick and tired of reading multiple magazine articles about athletes dropping out of triathlon because they felt it was a selfish pursuit. I received many comments and even more emails regarding the topic as people have some pretty strong opinions on the subject, myself included. Nothing like a good old-fashioned debate!!

My Most Helpful Post:

How Bad Do you Want…err Believe It? This piece was written to help others understand the psychology behind self motivation. It’s an extremely important part of an endurance athletes make-up yet one that’s very easy to lose. By understanding its role and its importance, we can all be armed with yet another tool to help foster a higher level of success.

A Post Whose Success Surprised Me:

Sticker Envy: I don’t know why, but people still surprise me! I wrote this after I saw a car in a parking lot with so many accomplishment decals on the back window, I had no clue how they possibly used their rearview mirrors for driving!

A Post I Felt Didn’t Get The Attention It Deserved:

You Gotta Have Faith: This was one of those posts where I really spoke from the core of my being. It’s why I do this day in and day out. What the sport…all endurance sports, represent to me and my life.

The Post I’m Most Proud Of:

Weekend Warriors Strike Again: I’m so proud of this one because it’s about my husband. We both raced on this weekend, but in separate races. He took 1st in his AG, in a local 5k on a very hot morning on the most hilly course the coast has to offer. We grew up swimmers, but he is now discovering he has a fine pair of running legs. It has been so much fun to develop training plans and race strategies for him and watch all the pieces fall into place, like a work of art.

And now….

My 5 nominations are:

  1. Rebecca from over at See Becca Try to Tri
  2. KC from down at 140 Point 6 Miles of….Awesome
  3. Jennifer all the way over at Someday you will not be able to do this, Today is not that Day!
  4. Michelle over at LeighPierce’s
  5. and last, but certainly not least, the very elusive TriMomRemade

Tag Y’all Are It!
