As 2014 drew to a close, I got word that I had been accepted as a member of the 2015 Big Sexy Racing Elite Squad.

This is a group of fantastic people, not to mention athletes, from all around the world, led by pro-triathlete Chris McDonald and his wife Erika Race (amazing folks).

This a fabulous opportunity to try out new products and represent the vendors accordingly; in addition to pushing myself to a higher level, as this something the BSR group does very well on a daily basis! So far, it’s been a lot of fun. The 2015 season is sure to be an interesting one, hanging out and playing with these characters all year!!

Keep an eye out for all the latest and greatest product reviews from some terrific sponsors and check out BSRX3. This is an arm of Big Sexy Racing for anyone looking for training guidance, access to other athletes, race plans, coaches, and/or simply wants to be part of an amazing team.

See ya’ soon!

Trying New Things

A few weeks ago, a friend emailed  me a sponsorship application to complete….

What the hell, right ??!!

Wellllllll………

last week I found out I, indeed, would be part of Aquaphor’s 2013 amateur team!

Unknown-2

I have NO idea what to expect, but sometimes you gotta embrace the unknown and just go with it….

having a nice stockpile of quality chamois lube and healing ointment never hurts either! 🙂

Group Love

With a New Year comes new ideas.

New hopes and aspirations.

Many of mine, or course, are tied to racing…

Bettering my times/paces by improving my fitness is always a #1 priority.

But this year, I’m also trying something a little different…

In late 2011 I received an email from the creators of the Tough Chik Brand of apparel about their desire to create a women’s racing team.

It peaked my interest, but I admit I was a little hesitant.

While I won’t get into it here or now, I’ve got pretty strong opinions (contain your shock!) about the whole “team” thing.

I was actually working with a group of fine ladies, last year, trying to put one together. LET ME TELL YOU…it is NO simple task. It eventually got pushed to the back burner while work, families, and training took top priority.

Which brings me to Team Tough Chik.

This ended up being a group of more than 100 women, from all over the world who go out and give 100% every single day.

It’s members are young and old, tall and short, big and small…

However, all share a common belief system: To never give up, never give in, and always keep looking towards the finish line; all while being a pillar of support and encouragement to those around them.

Some may be podium finishers while others are working their hardest to cross the finish line, but each and every one has something to contribute to the communities where they live and race.

This group represents what CAN be done, what anyone can do if they WANT to do it.

This is the Tough Chik Team Mission Statement:

“Our mission is to encourage each other to get out there and have fun!  We see all team members as contributing members, whether you podium or persevere, all that matters is that you are out there doing what YOU love to do. A lot of teams out there focus their attention on attracting only elite athletes, but that’s just not what Tough Chik exclusively represents.  So we threw out the “rules” and decided to design a team for everyone.”

When I read this, I realized this team represented everything I believe exercise and amateur sport to be about so I decided to jump into the fray.

It is my belief, that when you put on a “team” jersey, it’s always a good idea to believe in the product whose logo you’re wearing.

Tough Chik is more than t-shirts and cycling clothes. It’s a thought process that resonates with people all over the world.

Team Tough Chik is marketing the idea that this is for all of us….

That everyone can get out there and play the game.

Giving it everything YOU have

Each and every day

To be the best that YOU can be.

I’m very proud to be a part of that.
